If you question a mark received on a Grade 12 provincial examination, you may request a re-marking of the examination ("re-mark") by making a written request to the Ministry of Education.
For a re-mark of a Grade 12 provincial exam (excluding BC First Nations Studies 12) please complete the Grade 12 Provincial Examinations Re-Mark Request Form (PDF, 100KB).
Students who wish to review their exam responses for the purposes of making a re-mark decision may request an exam review.
Grade 10/11 Re-Mark Requests
If you question a mark received on a Grade 10, 11 or BC First Nations Studies 12 provincial examination, you may request a re-marking of the examination (a "re-mark") through your school administration office.
You may request re-marks of the following written-response sections of your Grade 10, 11 or BC First Nations Studies 12 provincial examinations: English 10, Français langue première 10, Social Studies 11, Civic Studies 11 and BC First Nations Studies 12.
After your school has re-marked the written-response portion of the examination and submitted the Grades 10, 11 and BC First Nations Studies 12 Re-Mark Submission Form to the Ministry, the Ministry will report the exam and final blended results back to students and schools via School Secure Web and Student Secure Web
Students who wish to review their exam responses for the purposes of making a re-mark decision may request an exam review.
Information for Schools
When re-marking a student's exam responses, teachers will generally not know the marks a student received from the first time the written-response questions were marked. This will help to ensure an unbiased re-mark process.
Reporting Re-Marks to the Ministry
Schools should report provincial exam re-marks to the Ministry using the Grades 10, 11 and BC First Nations Studies 12 Re-Mark Submission Form found on the school secure website under the 'Examinations Resource Set Materials Download' link. This form should be submitted by the Grade 12 examination re-mark deadline dates published in the Handbook of Procedures. Late forms will not be processed.
