Citizenship & Social Responsibility Survey

The BC Ministry of Education, in conjunction with partner organizations, has developed a Citizenship and Social Responsibility Survey for students in Grades 8 through 12.

Participation in the survey is optional, decided by each school district. The Citizenship and Social Responsibility Survey is available annually from January to the end of June. Schools that complete the survey will receive their results directly.

The survey questions link to the BC Performance Standards for Social Responsibility and address the question:

To what extent do BC secondary students report that they are committed to the values of active citizenship and social responsibility?

The survey consists of 39 questions and takes about 15 minutes to complete. The survey can be administered electronically using the same system as the electronic Satisfaction Survey.

While a paper version [ PDF - 113kb] of the survey is available, the ministry encourages districts and schools to use the e-version as results are available immediately. If the paper version is used, tabulating results is the district's responsibility.
