Acrobat Reader SoftwareIt is recommended that most people upgrade to the latest version of the Acrobat Reader software. The exception may be those who are using older computers and older web browser software, which may not be compatible with the latest versions of Acrobat. Older configurations may not be able to read some of the Acrobat documents available on the web site. Please refer to Adobe's web page and your web browser manufacturer's web site for compatibility information and support. The Ministry of Education cannot guarantee compatibility of documents with all variations of web browser and Acrobat software and cannot provide support for your software installation. The Acrobat Web Browser Plug In There are two ways to view Adobe Acrobat documents, using the Acrobat Plug-In within a web browser, or by downloading the document and opening the .pdf file with Adobe Acrobat Reader. Both the web browser Plug-In and Acrobat Reader are available from Adobe's Web site at no charge. However, the software must be correctly installed and your web browser software correctly configured in order to successfully view the documents. The Acrobat Plug-In (or PDF Plug-In) allows Acrobat .pdf files to open directly into the viewing window of the web browser (Netscape Navigator/Communicator, AOL or Microsoft Internet Explorer). |
