In Case of Problems

If you receive a "Document not found" or 404 error when attempting to open a document link, please contact the Ministry of Education Webmaster for the page you are visiting with the address (URL) of the page you were on, and what link you were trying to open (a Webmaster Email link is on the Home page and on most web pages).

Step By Step:

If the document does not open automatically with the Acrobat Plug-In, you can download the document to you hard drive and open the .pdf file manually in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

To make a document download as a file rather than attempt to open in your browser,

Step 1:
Locate the web page with the link to the Acrobat document

Step 2:
Download the document to your hard disk using the method appropriate to your computer and Web browser software:

Netscape
Navigator/Communicator
Microsoft Internet Explorer
Mac
Hold the Option key down, and click on the link to the Acrobat document

Browser Configuration Information: Netscape Mac

Hold the Option key down, and click on the link to the Acrobat document

Browser Configuration Information: IE Mac

Windows
Right-click on the link to the Acrobat document and choose "Save to Disk As..."

Browser Configuration Information: Netscape Win

Right-click on the link to the Acrobat document, and choose "Save Target As..."

Browser Configuration Information: IE Win

Make note of the name of the .pdf file as you download it. It will be saved to your default download location on your hard drive (you can define this location in your Browser's Preferences or Options menu).

Step 3:
In the Finder (Mac) or Windows Explorer (Win), locate the .pdf file and open it by

  • double-clicking it or
  • drag and dropping on Acrobat Reader, or
  • opening Acrobat Reader and choosing File: Open...

In Case of Problems:

If the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader reports an error opening the document, please try downloading it again, and reinstall Acrobat Reader. If the error persists, contact the Ministry of Education Webmaster with the name of the document, the Web page that you downloaded it from, the error message and the version of Acrobat Reader software you are using.
