Nomination Guidelines

The Premier’s Awards for Teaching Excellence recognize the efforts of outstanding teachers in British Columbia. The Premier's Awards for Teaching Excellence recognize our best teachers, promote what they have achieved and share their innovative and successful teaching practices with their colleagues and the education community.

Awards

  • Up to 10 finalists in each category will receive a certificate of recognition
  • Up to 20 Provincial awards recipients will be celebrated at an event at which time they will receive a certificate of achievement, $1,500 for professional development and an award.

Eligibility

  • Currently teaches within the British Columbia K-12 public, independent, or band school systems
  • Taught courses of study authorized by the School Act or Independent School Act during the current school year
  • Works directly with students
