Healthy Schools
Healthy children are better able to learn, and schools provide an ideal setting for children to learn healthy habits that can benefit them for the rest of their lives. B.C. is promoting policy development and practice that reflect a comprehensive school health approach.

Healthy Schools Network
A voluntary organization of public and independent schools providing leadership in creating healthier environments for students and modeling a comprehensive school health approach.

H1N1 Pandemic Planning
B.C. has produced a number of resources to ensure schools have the best information possible to protect students and staff against the H1N1 flu virus.

BC Anaphylactic and Child Safety Framework and the Anaphylaxis Protection Order
This framework provides boards of education with a broad overview of the key elements required in policy, procedures and guidelines at the district level to ensure appropriate and consistent management of anaphylaxis in the school setting and throughout the education system.

Criminal Record Checks
Anyone who works with children or who has unsupervised access to children must submit to a Criminal Record Check. This includes all teachers and additional school staff.
