Information and Communication Technologies All Integrated Resource Packages (IRPs) promote the use of appropriate technology to achieve prescribed learning outcomes. Many IRPs include specific learning outcomes directly related to the development of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) skills such as analyzing and evaluating information, using productivity tools, database analysis, information management, graphics and multimedia applications. At the secondary level, specific IRPs in areas such as Information Technology, Technology Education and Business Education allow students to develop specialized ICT skills. Students also address the ethical and social issues related to the appropriate use of technology. Students need access to a range of resources to develop the information literacy skills demanded in the workplace and at home. Teachers can choose from a range of digital resources to support learning outcomes at any particular level. In addition to textbooks, reference books and video, the ministry recommends software, multimedia resource kits and CD-ROMs. The ministry is committed to:
