Ministry Policy SiteSearch HelpThe scope of your search determines what documents are searched for the terms you entered. "Policy Site" searches all documents within the whole policy site (includes, for example, the "How Policy Works" documents). "Policies Only" means that the search will be limited to actual policy documents. Choosing "Entire Ministry Site" will widen the search to all documents on the Ministry of Education site (including, for example, documents from Special Education). There are three selectors for types. The first selector allows you to choose "should contain" and "must contain." Choosing the latter will return only documents that have all your entered search terms, whereas choosing "should contain" will return documents that match some but not necessarily all your terms. The second selector allows you to choose "in the body,""in the description," or "in the keywords." The first choice means the search terms will appear in the actual text of the document as it is displayed to you. Choosing "in the description" will search only the metadata that the ministry has included in the file - words that are not displayed to you but may be helpful in finding some policy that uses different terminology. Similarly, choosing "in the keywords" searches the keywords the ministry has selected for the policies, not the actual text of the documents. For example, typing in the search term 'mature' or 'mature student' will identify the Adult Graduation Program Policy, even though the term 'mature' is never used in the policy. Finally, choosing "the words" means that the search will include any combination, in any order or placement, of the search terms you entered. Conversely, choosing "the phrase" means that you will only find documents that match the exact words in the exact order and placement that you entered as search terms.
