Ministry Policy SitePolicy Document: Criminal Records Checks Policy - Additional InformationBack to Criminal Records Checks Policy A Short Term Registry has been developed to help facilitate the records check process for students and others who will work with children in child care facilities on a temporary basis. Prior to the implementation of the Short Term Registry, students planning to work in more than one child care facility were required to submit a separate check for each facility. The Short Term Registry provides the opportunity to register only once for a criminal records check in any one year period. To remain on the Short Term Registry, the student must submit a Schedule F annually. A two to three month lead time prior to the expiry date is suggested. Find A Policy by Title, Topic, or Date.
