StrongStart BC Centres - Mentoring Project

End date for StrongStart BC Mentoring Project: June 2008

The purpose of the StrongStart BC Mentoring Project is to support the development and sustainable operation of StrongStart BC centres and to promote early learning in British Columbia.

The StrongStart BC Mentoring Project will partner StrongStart BC pilot sites with new centres to build networks and relationships, to coordinate ongoing communication, and to share effective strategies and problem solve.

Goal 1: Improve the overall operation of StrongStart BC centres through increased sharing and acquisition of knowledge.

Objective 1.1 Improve the knowledge transfer from StrongStart BC pilots to new StrongStart BC centres.

Objective 1.2 Provide opportunities for StrongStart BC contacts to discuss and share information at the local, district and provincial level.

Goal 2: Improve regional partnerships with StrongStart BC pilots and new StrongStart BC centres.

Objective 2.1 Provide opportunities for the pilots and new centres to meet face-to-face, and interact via conference calls.

Objective 2.2 Reduce the professional isolation of StrongStart BC district contacts and StrongStart BC facilitators.

Objective 2.3 Increase collaboration and cooperation at the local, district and provincial level.

Goal 3: Improve the overall quality of the program delivered in StrongStart BC centres.

Objective 3.1 Provide opportunities for StrongStart BC facilitators to share expertise and effective strategies with one another.

Objective 3.2 Increase professional development opportunities for StrongStart BC facilitators and district contacts.
