Ministry-Recommended Videos

As of September 2007, the B.C. Educational Resource Acquisition Consortium (ERAC) is the sole organization authorized to duplicate and distribute videos licensed to the Ministry of Education for use in the B.C. K-12 school system.

(Prior to 2005, many Ministry-Recommended videos were made available via British Columbia Learning Connection Inc. (BCLC), a service subsidized by the Ministry.)

These videos were licensed for duplication for a limited time (usually 5 years), and many are no longer available. As of March 2008, less than 40 titles were still available for duplication through these licenses.

Why buy Ministry-licensed videos from ERAC? Because it costs less than purchasing direct from the distributor!
By licensing these videos for duplication, the Ministry subsidized this service to provide economically-priced videos to the B.C. school system.

Prices
The current price for Ministry-licensed and duplicated, including shipping, is $26.00 plus GST.

Delivery
ERAC will ship the ordered videos directly to the ordering school or district.

ERAC-approved videos

In addition to Ministry-licensed videos, the Ministry of Education provides financial support to the B.C. Educational Resource Acquisition Consortium (ERAC).

ERAC annually reviews recently-released “supplementary” videos, and produces an annual “ERAC-approved” catalog of the top videos, with negotiated, discounted pricing. Each annual catalog includes at least 200 videos.
