Suggested Instructional Strategies
The study of exploration and government in Canada requires that students identify the perspectives of everyone involved. Empathy and the willingness to consider all points of view in decision-making situations are fostered through research and case studies.
To extend this activity, students could invite their local MLA to discuss the function of government.
Suggested Assessment Strategies
As they work on role plays and problem-solving activities, observe and note the extent to which students consider different perspectives.
