Personal and Social Responsibility
It is expected that students will:
Grades K to 1
- show a willingness to listen to directions and simple explanations
- use safe behaviours when responding to simple movement tasks
- demonstrate self-confidence while participating in activities from different movement categories
- stay on-task when participating in physical activity
- display a willingness to work with others
- identify different roles in a variety of physical activities
- identify the links between work and leisure
Grades 2 to 3
- demonstrate the ability to listen to directions, follow rules and routines, and stay on-task while participating in physical activity
- demonstrate safe behaviours when participating in physical activity
- demonstrate self-confidence while participating in activities from different movement categories
- display a willingness to share ideas, space, and equipment when participating co-operatively with others
- accept responsibility for assigned roles while participating in physical activity
- display a willingness to work with others of various abilities, interests, and cultural backgrounds
- identify the links between work and leisure
Grade 4
- identify and follow rules, routines, and procedures of safety in a variety of activities from all movement categories
- demonstrate self-confidence while participating in physical activity
- identify and demonstrate etiquette and fair play
- select and assume responsibility for assigned roles while participating in physical activity
- identify and demonstrate positive behaviours that show respect for individuals' potential, interests, and cultural backgrounds
