Curriculum Updates - July 2009
A complete listing of all ministry curricula is contained in the Education Program Guide Order [PDF 67KB], M333/99. The following chart provides an update of curricula to this order, with the curricula documents that are currently in the process of being finalized and/or are to be ready for implementation. Other curricula are status quo.
NOTE that for those curricula that are fully implemented in July 2009, only the new curricula are valid.
A complete listing of all ministry curricula is contained in the Required Areas of Study in an Educational Program Order [PDF 35 KB], M165/08, lists the required areas of study in an educational program that meets all the prescribed learning outcomes for BC students in each of the grades from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
Optional implementation refers to a transition period in which teachers have the option of using the updated curriculum or the existing curriculum. Full implementation refers to curricula that must be used and that have replaced the former/older versions (i.e. former/older versions are no longer valid), or curricula that is new and available for use.
