Introduction
This Integrated Resource Package (IRP) sets out the provincially prescribed curriculum for Home Economics 11 and 12. The development of this IRP has been guided by the principles of learning:
- Learning requires the active participation of the student.
- People learn in a variety of ways and at different rates.
- Learning is both an individual and a group process.
Each course in this IRPCafeteria Training 11 and 12, Family Studies 11 and 12, Food Studies 11 and 12, and Textile Studies 11 and 12satisfies the applied skills requirement for graduation. Schools are encouraged to provide opportunities for students to take more than one home economics course (or applied skills course) at any grade level.
