Overview

The teacher developed a month-long theme that focussed on machines. The class also studied simple machines in science. Evaluation was based on class and small-group participation; creation of machines through mime, movement, and soundscape; and creation of advertisements.

Planning for Assessment and Evaluation

Prior to this theme, students had created soundscapes, worked with body percussion and rhythm instruments, and participated in a variety of miming activities.

Defining the Criteria

The teacher worked with students to develop criteria.
