Did you know? During the Depression era of the 1930s, school nurses would travel by horseback to visit rural school communities in BC. In fact, health care professionals, and nurses in particular, have always been a part of our province’s public education system.

Today, public health representatives from the regional health authorities work closely with schools and school districts on a number of issues, including anaphylaxis management, immunization programs, communicable disease prevention and pandemic planning.
