Anaphylaxis

Anaphylaxis is a sudden and severe allergic reaction, which can be fatal, requiring immediate medical emergency measures be taken. Failure to respond appropriately could result in death.

The Ministry of Education has taken an active role in working with schools and boards of education in the implementation of comprehensive anaphylaxis management strategies; and developing resources for school staff, parents and students; to reduce risk for anaphylactic children across the province.
