Healthy Schools NetworkNetwork Summary The Healthy Schools Network is a voluntary organization of public and independent schools whose common goal is to improve comprehensive school health focusing on three inter-related areas: Teaching and Learning, School Environment and Partnerships. It is a component of the Network of Performance Based Schools,
whose members are actively working with the BC Reading, Writing, Numeracy and Social Responsibility Performance Standards. BC Healthy Schools Network Membership Requirements and Benefits:

Note 1: The BC Healthy Schools Network Assessment Tool guides schools through an environmental scan of their school and assists them in determining priorities for action and strategies to address prioritized issues. The outcome of the assessment is an identification of the elements that need to be addressed in order to maximize success for students, and an understanding of the positive initiatives the school has implemented to date. Note 2: HSN members share progress and strengthen their learning experience at regional NPBS/HSN meetings throughout the year, which includes an October in-service for new HSN members only, at least 2 regional NPBS/HSN meetings throughout the year, and the year-end regional celebration. Note 3: HSN members will be provided with a draft Healthy Living Performance Standards for their use and will be invited to contribute to the development of the Performance Standards.
