French Programs [en français]

The French Programs Unit is part of French Programs and Language Initiatives Branch and has direct responsibility for:

  • Policy development for French Language programs
  • Federal Funding Support under Official Languages in Education Protocol (OLEP)
  • Provincial Coordination of two National Programs, Explore and Accent / Odyssey, as well as the B.C. - Quebec Six-Month Exchange Program, French Teacher Bursaries and Student Fellowships
  • Provincial contact for Federal Department of Canadian Heritage regarding First-Language Education (Francophone) and Second-Language instruction (French Immersion and Core French)
  • Preparation of Federal Financial Statements and reports on use of Federal Funding
