Reflecting on Quality: Program Reflection Tool for StrongStart BC programs
Strong evidence indicates that quality early childhood programs have positive impacts on children’s development and learning. Research tells us that regular reflection and assessment of educator practice helps ensure that the philosophy and high standards of the program are upheld resulting in rich experiences for children and families.
The Ministry of Education encourages facilitators to reflect on their practice and to share and discuss their reflections with other educators to ensure and sustain the high quality of StrongStart BC programs. The Reflecting on Quality: Program Reflection Tool for StrongStart BC provides facilitators and districts with a resource that supports high quality StrongStart BC early learning programs through reflective practice. The tool will support facilitators and school districts to assess, reflect, recognize, and where needed, make improvement to their StrongStart BC programs. By using the tool on an ongoing basis, districts will be in a better position to make timely, evidence-based, informed decisions on improving the quality of their programs.
