StrongStart Centres Registration Information

When you and your child first attend a StrongStart BC program, you will be asked to complete a registration form (PDF, 78KB). This form will need to be completed once annually, usually the first time you attend during the school year.

At the time of registration, you will need to bring legal proof of identification for your child. For example, you could bring a birth certificate, permanent resident card, certificate of citizenship, documents issued by Immigration Canada, Aboriginal Status cards, passport/visa, or other vital statistics documents. This legal proof of identification is required in order to assign a Personal Education Number (PEN) to each child that attends a StrongStart BC early learning program.  This personal education number forms the basis of the child’s educational record, from StrongStart BC to graduation, and on to post secondary programs.  The child will have the same PEN throughout their schooling years. All children are assigned a PEN when they register for kindergarten or when they start school for the first time in BC.
