Health Canada’s website is a good source of information on healthy eating and weight standards for children and adolescents. Please be aware that standard BMI tables are NOT designed to be used by children under 18 years of age.

The Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education, and Dance website includes fitness games and activity ideas within the "members only" area of the site.
Daily Activity calendars could be a good desktop publishing project for a language arts class to take on – for a single class, the entire school or even the district.
