Schools can use the LMS to:

  • Upload and deliver course activities, lessons and assignments
  • Access and share high-quality online learning resources

Onboard to the new LMS

  • The new provincial LMS is available for school districts and independent school authorities to onboard

Access resources for educators

ShareEdBC is an online platform that educators can use to:

  • Find or share ready-to-use resources for teaching, planning and professional learning
  • Connect with other educators
  • Engage, inspire and spark the imaginations of learners

Accountability and Quality Assurance

A new Accountability and Quality Assurance process has been developed

New (AQA) Accountability and Quality Assurance (PDF) for online learning schools has been developed with Indigenous rightsholders and education sector partners. The AQA contains two parts:

  • The framework defines successful online learning (principles, quality indicators and accountability metrics) for all online learning schools
  • The process outlines continuous improvement in online learning delivery to enhance student success, as a requirement for Provincial Online Learning Schools

The AQA review period will start in the 2024/25 school year.

For Provincial Online Learning Schools, Boards and Authorities must adhere to the processes set out in the Ministry’s Accountability and Quality Assurance for Online Learning (PDF) framework and process document.

Boards may also use the Accountability and Quality Assurance for Online Learning framework and process to review District Online Learning Schools, along with the following processes:

Policy and Procedures

Effective July 1, 2023, the new Online Learning Policy provides a general framework for the delivery of online learning in B.C.

The Online Learning Policy outlines what Boards of Education and Independent School Authorities can do with and without an Online Learning agreement with the Minister. It replaces all previous interim online learning policies.

The Interim Procedures Guide for online learning also comes into effect for 2023/24 school year

The Interim Procedures Guide (PDF) provides procedures and guidelines for Provincial Online Learning Schools and District Online Learning Schools beginning July 1, 2023.

The policy and procedures were developed with education sector partners.
