Student Transitions Unit

The Student Transitions Unit supports students in making successful transitions from secondary school to post-secondary education/training or to work.

This is accomplished through the development of policies that allow school districts to create transition programs aimed at their student populations and/or development of provincial transition programs.

The Unit manages funding policies for transition programs and for courses completed via Challenge, External, and Post-Secondary learning. The unit is also responsible for policies that enable closer collaboration between the secondary and post-secondary education systems.

• Accelerated Credit Enrolment in Industry Training
• Secondary School Apprenticeship
• AVID
• Credit through Equivalency, Challenge, External Credentials, and Post-Secondary Courses
• Recognition of Post-Secondary Transition Programs for Funding Purposes
