Corporate Planning is responsible for:


Corporate Planning

  • developing and writing the Service Plan, the Annual Report, Report Cards on performance measures and ministry achievements, the ministry’s human resources plan, FTE and budget allocations, and managing a number of governmentwide initiatives such as workforce adjustment, renewal and performance-management initiatives
  • monitoring the implementation of core services and performance measures and providing regular status reports to executive. The team identifies gaps in planning that might inhibit the ministry's ability to successfully meet its targets.
  • analyzing, writing reports, making recommendations, building consensus, and planning for and implementing change. The team is accountable for identifying potential benefits, risks and other implications. The team also follows up and takes corrective action if necessary.

Strategic Initiatives

  • working on a wide variety of ministry initiatives involving both internal and external stakeholders
  • providing leadership on development and implementation of key strategic directions, to guide others in undertaking government and/or ministry initiatives
  • providing advice to the deputy minister on responses to concerns or requests from ministry stakeholders that directly impact the ministry's effectiveness
  • acting as a change agent and helping to identify and address barriers to change
