2.2 Survey Design
A survey was undertaken to gather a range of information
from SSA scholarship winners about their SSA program and the usefulness of the
scholarship, including the following:
- the extent to which they were satisfied with their
SSA experience (including the levels of support received from their employers,
school staff and others), benefits gained as a result of participation in the
SSA program and whether they had suggestions for improvements to the program;
- positive effects of and/or value of the scholarship
opportunity as an incentive;
- primary uses of and satisfaction with amount of
scholarship award;
- employment outcomes, including current employment
status and whether SSA scholarship winners had experienced any difficulties in
becoming an apprentice.
The survey was developed in consultation with the
Career Programs Evaluation Steering Committee.
