2.1 Research Requirements

This evaluation represented one component of a larger evaluation of Career Programs offered to B.C.’s secondary school students. The scope of work for this project included the completion of the following activities:

1. Design of a survey instrument and cover letters to be administered to Secondary School Apprenticeship scholarship winners;
2. Field testing and administration of a telephone survey to Secondary School Apprenticeship Scholarship recipients from the 1996-7 and 1997-8 school years (census, approximately 142 recipients);
3. Data reduction and analysis activities, including coding of open-ended comments provided by respondents and the preparation of a stand-alone report documenting methodology and key survey findings.
