Training

Back to Making the Transition

Training can take place in a variety of venues. Matching training to an anticipated outcome is key. If pursuing formal training, research the methods of delivery and what is taught to ensure that it meets industry standards. Call businesses where your teen is hoping to apply their training, to make sure that they are learning what they need to learn, rather than what they think they should. Encourage your teen to embrace any training opportunities available in clubs and organization, through paid work or through volunteer activities to develop transferable skills which can be used on the job.
