In BC alone there are thousands of jobs and 28 public post-secondary educational institutions which offer over 1,000 different programs. Individuals can often reach the same goal from very different routes. For example, consider two people who have a goal to own a sporting goods store. One person might go to college in business administration and develop the skills needed to run a business in a formal way while the other chooses to work right out of high school for the local sports store and gain business training and know-how right on the job. Both can reach their goal, by different routes. Key to their experience is having a goal and planning how to reach it.
