Career Development |

|
The Blueprint for Life/Work Designs characterizes career development to be "about growing through life and work; about learning, experiencing, living, working and changing, about creating and discovering pathways through one's life and work". The Blueprint also provides a list of career development competencies considered important throughout your career development. The career development process will help guide you through the various phases of Career Awareness, Career Exploration, and Career Preparation in order to help you become clearer about your life and work decisions and goals. The various phases of career development are cyclical, and you will find it helpful to return to one or more phase to confirm, adjust, and further plan your life and work goals. In addition to acquiring career development competencies, you also need to enhance your existing skills, to acquire additional skills and to apply your skills to new contexts, such as post-secondary education and training, or various employment settings. Check out the Skills, Attitudes and Behaviours for Life, Learning and Work to find out what life and work skills are needed in today's world, and how you can create a profile of yourself.
