This section is for students and parents who would like general information on career planning, going onto post-secondary education and training and going to work. The following are considered to be very good general and comprehensive sites for finding information on these topics. BC WorkInfoNet is a comprehensive site with sections for job seekers, career planners, youth, employers and researchers. There are links to a variety of sites and many web articles and web magazines are also available. The federal government web site Work Search provides information to those going through the career planning process, including assistance in self assessment, exploring careers, looking for work, learning and training and starting a business. Youth Link is a Human Resources Development Canada web site with links to hundreds of web sites and a wide variety of information on financial assistance, job search, skills development, work experience and entrepreneurship. Can Learn is a comprehensive site covering learning opportunities, institutions, distance learning, financial planning and federal resources and programs. |
