Disco Art

Did you know that in B.C...

  • There are over 7300 careers within the Music industry?
  • Over 20,000 people are directly or indirectly employed within the Motion Picture industry?
  • The New Media industry is fast becoming one of the world leaders in technological development?
  • Employment opportunities are expected to increase over the next five years?

Art So... You're thinking about a career in the Motion Picture, Music or New Media Industries.

There's some cool jobs, man!

These industries are growing in B.C., too!

This means that if you have the right combination of skills, education, interests and abilities, you too, can become a part of these exciting Cultural Industries. And guess what: Some of the skills you now possess could lead to a variety of careers within any or all of these industries in British Columbia, in Canada, or indeed, anywhere in the world!

One thing: The information in this guide comes directly from the industry leaders and employers right here in BC -- you know, the dudes that sign the paychecks!! They would like you to know that the artists, craftspersons, technicians and business leaders working in these industries are among the best in the world; and the skills and abilities they offer are highly competitive with those elsewhere.

So then, if you should choose a career in any of these industries, you will be expected to maintain those same high standards.

Art So anyways... I'd like to introduce myself.

My name is ARTHUR TRENDS. but you can call me ART.

Think of me as your personal (and stylin') tour guide throughout this web site. I will introduce you to each facet of these industries as they appear in this web site and help you to understand all about the working world of Motion Pictures, Music and New Media.

Use this guide as a starting point in planning your future. I hope that you will find it useful.

Good Luck!!
