Provincial Tourism Articulation Agreement

Preferred Entry at the Post-secondary Level

Seats in the Hospitality and Tourism Post-secondary Diploma Programs in at least one intake per year will be established for qualified Tourism Career Preparation Program (PTP) graduates. Students are required to provide six months notice of their intention to enroll.

The requirements of the Tourism Career Preparation Program (PTP) are defined as follows: Tourism 11 (4 credits), Tourism 12 (4 credits), CP Work Experience 12A (4 credits), and 12 credits of career-related support courses/electives.

The Hospitality and Tourism diploma program entrance requirements for BC Tourism graduates are:

  • equivalency in written and spoken English to C+ level Technical and Professional Communications 12 or English 12
  • equivalency in mathematics skills to C+ level in Applications of Mathematics 11 or Principles of Mathematics 11
  • extra work experience normally required for diploma program admission (waived for students who have successfully completed the Tourism CPP work requirements).
  • Certain programs have additional requirements; students should verify prerequisites with the institution of their choice:

North Island College
