Applications of Mathematics 9
This academic course provides a strong
foundation of mathematical literacy to prepare students to access post-secondary education
and a wide range of careers. Students apply a practical approach to solve mathematical
problems in relevant contexts, and demonstrate the importance of mathematics in a variety
of situations. The mathematical skills and knowledge are developed and refined by using
mental calculation, pencil and paper, calculators and computers.
Applications of Mathematics 10
This academic course provides a strong

Applications of Mathematics 11
This course is a Foundation Studies course
and meets the mathematics requirement for graduation. It provides a strong base of
mathematical literacy in preparation for post-secondary education or careers. Students
focus on acquiring the knowledge and skills that are used in a wide range of careers and
workplace settings. Statistics, Probability and Business Mathematics are some of the
topics in this course.
Applications of Mathematics 12
This provincially examinable course
provides a rigorous foundation of mathematical literacy in preparation for post-secondary
education or careers. Students gain a solid base for using math skills in a variety of
real-world contexts. Applications of Mathematics 12 is acceptable for admission into
post-secondary University Transfer, Vocational, and Career Technical programs.
Technical and Professional
Communications 12
This provincially examinable course gives
students a solid base in effective written and oral communication for all types of careers
and in everyday life. Students use a variety of traditional approaches, electronic
communication technologies and collaborative processes - to address real world
applications and literacy requirements. TPC12 is a Foundation Studies course for
graduation and is acceptable for admission into post-secondary University Transfer,
Vocational, and Career Technical programs.
