Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS)
The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) is organized by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA). More than 60 countries from around the world participated in the most recent assessment (TIMSS 2011).
TIMSS measures the mathematics and science achievement of Grade 4 and Grade 8 students. TIMSS takes place on a four-year cycle. British Columbia participated in TIMSS in 1999 and 2007.
TIMSS questionnaires are administered to students, teachers, and principals in order to better understand factors that may be associated with mathematics and science performance.
