Provincial Student Assessment Program
The ministry manages an assessment program that systematically gathers information from a variety of sources to determine the extent to which B.C. students are achieving the knowledge, skills and understanding prescribed in the provincial curriculum.
B.C. students participate in three types of assessments:

The Foundation Skills Assessment (FSA) is administered annually to all B.C. students in grades 4 and 7. It tests student ability in Reading Comprehension, Writing and Numeracy.
FSA 2009-2010 Administration Dates
The dates for Grade 4 and 7 Foundation Skills Assessment administration will be:
- For 2010: January 18 - February 26

National and International Assessments test a variety of subject areas. Samples of B.C. students in various age ranges write these tests which compare student achievement relative to other provinces and countries. |

Grade 10, 11 and 12 Provincial Examinations certify the performance of B.C. students graduating from Grade 12. |
